GrayRobinson President and CEO Dean Cannon Named to Florida Trend's 2026 Legal Elite NOTABLE Managing Partners

July 1, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – GrayRobinson is proud to announce President and CEO Dean Cannon has been named to Florida Trend's Legal Elite NOTABLE Managing Partners list for 2026. This marks the second time Cannon has earned the distinction, having first been recognized when the category debuted in 2023.

Now in its fourth year, this category of NOTABLE Legal Elite recognizes Florida-based managing partners for firm leadership, mentorship, and community involvement, following a nomination-based process and editorial review by Florida Trend.

As president and CEO of GrayRobinson, Cannon sets the firm’s strategic direction, empowers nearly 300 attorneys and consultants, and drives performance and results for clients at the intersection of business, law, and politics through a “people-first” leadership approach. Since taking the helm in 2019, Cannon has guided GrayRobinson through some of the most challenging and transformative periods in the firm's history, including a global pandemic and a recession, while delivering consistent year-over-year revenue and profit growth since 2020. Over the past year alone, he has led the launch of the firm's Pensacola office, expanded its admiralty and maritime practice, advanced the firm's adoption of artificial intelligence, and strengthened its foundation with the creation of a Risk Department, among other initiatives.

Based in the firm’s Tallahassee office, Cannon is a fifth-generation Floridian and accomplished attorney and lobbyist who has spent more than three decades advising and advocating on behalf of Florida’s regulated industries, public authorities, and private-sector clients. He began his career as a government affairs attorney with GrayRobinson before being elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2004. During his eight years in the Florida Legislature, he played a pivotal role in education policy, property tax reform, growth management reform, health care and Medicaid reform, and major transportation infrastructure initiatives, among many other areas. Elected by his peers to serve as Speaker of the House for the 2010-2012 term, Cannon is credited with leading the Florida House during a period of significant economic and political challenges. After leaving elected office in 2012, Cannon established his lobbying practice, which he brought to GrayRobinson in 2016, and was named the firm’s president and CEO in September 2019.
