GrayRobinson Welcomes Four New Associates

ORLANDO, Fla. – GrayRobinson today announced the addition of Lucia Leoni, Blake Mathesie, Alek Ubieta, and Julie Zolty as associates in three of the firm’s Florida offices.

Lucia Leoni, Litigation, Miami

Leoni brings experience handling litigation and appellate matters, and regularly prepares complex motions for summary judgment and appellate briefs. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, she served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Julie Sneed at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and as a judicial extern for the Honorable Andrea Teves Smith at Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal. Leoni received her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Communications from Florida State University.

Blake Mathesie, Litigation, Jacksonville

Mathesie is experienced in handling a wide variety of litigation, regularly assisting clients in administrative and government matters. Prior to becoming an associate at GrayRobinson, Mathesie served as a law clerk and legislative aid in the firm’s Tallahassee office. He received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Pre-Law from the University of Florida.

Alek Ubieta, Criminal and White Collar Defense, Miami

Ubieta has experience defending corporate executives, athletes, actors, recording artists, politicians, and small, mid-sized, and significant multimillion-dollar businesses in all federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels. He handles matters involving fraud, as well as cases concerning money laundering, narcotics trafficking, sexual assault, homicide, human trafficking, firearm-related offenses, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, and regulatory issues. Ubieta regularly guides clients through highly sensitive civil and criminal investigations and has additional experience conducting international arbitrations and civil rights lawsuits. Before joining GrayRobinson, he interned for the Southern District of Florida Federal Public Defender’s Office. Ubieta received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Strategy and Management Consulting from Emory University.

Julie Zolty, Labor and Employment and Litigation, Orlando

Zolty focuses her practice on labor and employment and litigation matters. She regularly advises clients on matters involving discrimination, all forms of retaliation, the Fair Labor Standard Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. She is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified County Court Mediator. In addition to her practice, Zolty works with the Guardian ad Litem Society in the Eighth Judicial Circuit to advocate for neglected children in need of representation. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. Additionally, Zolty is admitted to practice in Florida and the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.
