During the interview, Jorge discussed how intellectual property law affects businesses of all sizes, from international airlines and cruise lines to mom-and-pop shops and first-time entrepreneurs. He also explored the growing intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) with trademarks, copyrights, and patents, including the opportunities and risks AI presents for protecting a person's image, voice, and creative work.
Based in the firm's Miami office, Jorge advises clients on the domestic and international protection of trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. His practice encompasses litigating complex intellectual property cases nationwide, conducting enforcement proceedings internationally, and developing strategies for the growth or protection of clients' IP portfolios. Jorge works extensively with foreign counsel on international IP strategy and has substantial experience serving as local counsel for firms enforcing clients' rights in South Florida and Latin America, including matters before Customs and Border Protection. Jorge is board certified in Intellectual Property Law by The Florida Bar and is recognized in Best Lawyers in America (2005-2011, 2021-2027), including Lawyer of the Year in Copyright Law (2022, 2024) and Patent Law (2027).
