ORLANDO, Fla. – GrayRobinson is pleased to announce the addition of three new attorneys across its Business Law, Real Estate and Land Use, and Labor and Employment Sections, with Andrea G. Amigo and Jerrod D. Simpson, B.C.S. joining as of counsel and Kayla S. Manning joining as associate. These additions bring a broad range of advisory, transactional, and litigation experience that deepens GrayRobinson’s bench and enhances its ability to help clients navigate higher education compliance, real estate and land use matters, and labor and employment disputes across Florida and beyond.
Andrea G. Amigo, Business Law, West Palm Beach
Amigo focuses her practice on higher education and labor and employment law, advising colleges and universities on employment law matters, student affairs, public records and open government compliance, and disability accommodations, as well as guiding clients through internal investigations, administrative proceedings, and all phases of litigation. She also represents private employers, governmental entities, and public officials in employment discrimination, retaliation, civil rights, and government liability matters in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.
Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Amigo served as associate general counsel for Florida Atlantic University, where she advised university leadership on student affairs, civil litigation, Title IX, disability accommodations, employment law, and public records compliance matters.
Amigo is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida. She is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Jerrod D. Simpson, B.C.S., Real Estate and Land Use, Tampa
Board-certified in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar, Simpson focuses his practice on real estate, land use, and construction, advising public sector clients on land use, development, and regulatory matters across municipal government and utility operations, and guiding projects from initial entitlement and board review through closing, procurement, construction, and closeout.
Simpson has served in senior legal roles for the cities of Tampa, Lakeland, and Clearwater, acting as board and senior staff counsel to planning, zoning, historic preservation, natural resources, and code compliance authorities, and handling litigation and appellate matters related to development rights and constitutional and administrative challenges, including high-stakes environmental enforcement matters.
Simpson earned his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida. He is admitted to practice in Florida, before the U.S. Supreme Court, before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
Kayla S. Manning, Labor and Employment, Orlando
Manning handles labor and employment defense matters, representing clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in claims arising under FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and the Florida Civil Rights Act, including drafting dispositive motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda, as well as advising clients on workplace compliance and internal business policies. She has a background in representing hospitality and retail sectors in matters involving premises liability and automotive liability claims, with experience handling depositions, hearings, expert coordination, trial preparation, and case strategy.
Manning is a member of the Orange County Bar Association. She earned her Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Florida. She is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
