GrayRobinson Welcomes Nationally Recognized Powerhouse Dena H. Sokolow to Labor and Employment Practice

June 10, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – GrayRobinson is pleased to announce Dena H. Sokolow has joined the firm as shareholder in its Labor and Employment practice. Based in the Tallahassee office, Sokolow is a nationally recognized labor and employment litigator and advisor who blends sharp legal insight with practical HR knowledge to help businesses navigate today’s complex workplace landscape.

“We are delighted to welcome Dena Sokolow to our team,” said GrayRobinson Labor and Employment Section Chair Marlene Quintana. “She brings over three decades of labor and employment litigation experience and is known all over the nation for her work. Her cross-industry insight and collaborative spirit make her a powerful mentor and partner within an already exceptional team.”

Sokolow’s practice is defined by her direct, solution-oriented approach, combining strategic counsel with robust litigation experience. She represents employers across many industries—including health care, retail, construction, hospitality, and staffing—in federal and state employment disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) claims, and employee misclassification. Nationally recognized for her work in wage and hour law, she regularly advises on U.S. Department of Labor audits, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective actions, and internal classification reviews involving independent contractor and exemption issues. In her advisory role, she helps clients proactively identify and address compliance risks, strengthening workplace policies, and minimizing legal exposure.

“Joining GrayRobinson is a natural next step in my career,” said Sokolow. “I’ve spent the better part of my professional career helping employers navigate complex workplace issues—whether by preventing problems before they arise or defending them when they do. I’m proud to bring that mindset to GrayRobinson and contribute to a team that shares my focus on practical, strategic solutions and exceptional advocacy.”

Sokolow earned her Master of Laws in Labor and Employment Law from Georgetown University Law Center and her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Political Economics from Tulane University. Sokolow is licensed to practice in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. A dynamic speaker and educator, Sokolow is frequently invited to present at industry conferences, professional associations, and corporate leadership programs.
