GrayRobinson Welcomes Accomplished Health Care Attorney Stephanie Carman

Carman, has joined the firm as a shareholder in the Miami law firm office and Washington, D.C., office. Carman joins the firm’s health care practice, where she will provide strategic advice on regulatory issues, transactions, investigations, and litigation. She represents corporate, governmental, academic, and individual clients in administrative actions and in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels. Carman also works with her clients on internal investigations and responding to governmental requests for information.

Carman represents companies in a variety of industries and jurisdictions but is best known for her work with life sciences and health care industry clients, including academic medical centers, hospitals, home health agencies, hospices, laboratories, information technology, and device companies. 

Carman is active in her local community, serving in several leadership roles for the Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. and as a member of a Florida Bar Grievance Committee. She is past president of the Dade County Bar Association, the fifth woman to hold the position. Carman also serves on alumni boards of her Alma Maters, Tufts University, and the University of Miami School of Law.

Carman has an impressive list of accolades, having been nationally recognized by Chambers, the Daily Business ReviewSouth Florida Legal GuideAttorney at Law MagazineSuperLawyers, and Florida Trend. She was also awarded the Daily Business Review's Rising Star award, The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division's Lynn Futch Most Productive Lawyer, the Cystic Fibrosis 40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers of Miami-Dade County, and The University of Miami School of Law Alumni Leadership Award.

Carman is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell and a regularly published author. She is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, a fellow of the American Bar Association, and a fellow of the Litigation Council of America.

Carman received her juris doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Dean's Fellow and graduated cum laude. She graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
