Alec was born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1968 and spent most of his youth in Titusville, Florida. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1988 and served as an F-15 fighter aircraft avionics technician in Desert Storm before being honorably discharged in 1992. Alec then attended the University of Central Florida, where he graduated magna cum laude with a journalism degree in 1997. Alec attended law school at the University of Florida College of Law, graduating with honors in 1999. While attending law school, Alec clerked for Judge Maurice V. Giunta, circuit court judge in and for Alachua County, Florida. After graduating from law school, Alec accepted an offer with a small Central Florida firm with a general practice, where he worked on a wide variety of legal matters ranging from litigation to guardianship to real property law. Alec joined GrayRobinson in February 2001. Alec practices in the area of civil litigation with a focus on commercial and tort litigation, employment litigation, probate and trust litigation, and appellate practice.
