GrayRobinson is pleased to share Gainesville Managing Shareholder Tom McThenia presented "Policy, Ethics & Legal Implications” on the “Legal Responsibilities of AI Educators and Institutions" panel at the University of Florida's (UF) AI² Summit.

The AI² Summit, hosted by UF’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academic Initiative Center, focused on advancing AI integration in higher education. The conference brought together administrators, faculty, researchers, and students to explore AI's role in teaching and research. Attendees engaged in keynote addresses from industry leaders, hands-on workshops, and panel discussions covering AI ethics, curriculum integration, and legal responsibilities. The event also featured networking opportunities, an expo hall with AI demonstrations, and sessions on best practices for AI adoption in academia, fostering collaboration and innovation in education.

Tom's focuses his practice in intellectual property (IP), technology, licensing, commercial transactions, and cyber law. In addition to being a registered patent attorney, Tom handles all areas of IP, including trademark and patent practice and opinion work, copyright, and trade secret matters. He provides strategic IP counsel to a variety of clients, including developing corporate IP and technology commercialization strategies, managing global trademark, patent, and copyright portfolios, and conducting IP due diligence and assessments. Tom enjoys working on consumer product development issues, such as product development, design and utility patent protection, trademark, copyright, social media, and internet issues.
