GrayRobinson is pleased to announce Attorney Andrea G. Amigo presented "Employment Law Update and Recommended Practices to Mitigate Exposure" to school administration leaders at The Franklin Academy as part of its director of school operations presentation.
Andrea provided an overview of recent Florida employment law developments affecting schools, including changes to the Florida Civil Rights Act, minimum wage requirements, and educator certification. The presentation highlighted practical strategies to mitigate legal exposure through effective policies, documentation, compliance practices, and proactive legal guidance.
Based in the firm's West Palm Beach office, Andrea focuses her practice on higher education and labor and employment law. Drawing on her prior role as associate general counsel for Florida Atlantic University, she advises colleges and universities on employment matters, student affairs, public records and open government requirements, disability accommodations, and regulatory compliance. She also represents private employers, governmental entities, and public officials in employment discrimination, retaliation, civil rights, and governmental liability matters. Andrea chairs the Justice Pariente Judicial Reception for the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and co-chaired its Working Parents Committee from 2024 to 2025. She is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys and The Florida Bar's Labor and Employment Law Section.
