GrayRobinson is pleased to share Attorney Byron Flagg spoke on the "Data Centers: Big Data, Bigger Impact" panel at the Florida League of Cities' 2026 Annual Conference held in Hollywood, Florida.
The session examined Senate Bill 484 and offered municipal officials practical guidance for evaluating proposed data center projects, including their implications for electric demand, water use, land-use compatibility, infrastructure capacity, and community impact. Panelists shared industry, utility, and local government perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of data center development in Florida.
Based in the firm's Gainesville office, Byron advises landowners, business entities, individuals, and local governments on land use, zoning, environmental, regulatory, conservation, and real estate issues. He serves as an executive council member of The Florida Bar’s Environmental and Land Use Law Section and is a member of its Administrative Law; City, County, and Local Government Law; and Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law Sections. He also serves as a board member of the Community Weatherization Coalition, vice-chair of the Growth and Infrastructure Consortium's Board of Directors, and a former faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He received the Bill Sadowski Memorial Public Service Award (2022) and the Stephens/Register Memorial Award (2025) from The Florida Bar's Environmental and Land Use Law Section.
