GrayRobinson Shareholder and Higher Education Team Leader Scott Cole will present during the Employment Law Alliance (ELA) webinar, “2026 ELA Year in Review: U.S. Higher Education,” on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 2:00 pm ET. The virtual program will examine significant legal and policy developments reshaping colleges and universities nationwide, with a focus on recent court rulings, regulatory shifts, and federal education initiatives impacting institutional governance and compliance obligations.
The session will provide analysis of evolving Title VI and Title IX requirements, restructuring within the U.S. Department of Education, emerging free speech and unionization challenges affecting campus disciplinary and collective bargaining processes, and developing Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) employment issues. Attendees will gain practical insight to help their institutions navigate compliance risks and prepare for the rapidly changing legal landscape.
Scott leads the GrayRobinson Higher Education Team. He has a unique and intimate understanding of the opportunities, challenges, and constraints facing higher education today, having served as general counsel for the University of Central Florida and associate general counsel for the University of Florida. Scott provides legal counsel and operational consulting for colleges and universities, as well as charter and public schools across Florida and nationwide.
