JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – GrayRobinson is pleased to announce Shareholder Elio Martinez has received the Meritorious Service Award from the New York University (NYU) Alumni Association.
The Meritorious Service Award is presented annually to select volunteers in recognition of distinguished service over an extended period. It is given to a member of the NYU alumni community of significant renown who has provided exemplary service to volunteer programs. Martinez has served as a director of the NYU Alumni Association for more than 12 years, the last seven as an officer. He was vice president for five years and president from 2024 to 2026, and he is the association's immediate past president. Martinez was the first person from outside the New York City metropolitan area to serve as president.
Based in the firm's Jacksonville office, Martinez represents global brands in complex intellectual property (IP) litigation. He regularly serves clients from the firm's Miami office, reflecting his deep ties across Florida and his commitment to clients throughout the region. His client collaborations include matters related to trademark counterfeiting, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, patent infringement, and trade secret misappropriation. Martinez chairs the IP Committee of the International Association of Defense Counsel and is a member of the International Trademark Association. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation since 2021.
