GrayRobinson is pleased to announce Litigation Deputy Section Chair Rachael Crews has been appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the 9th Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC).
The 9th Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is a nine-member body that plays a key role in Florida’s merit selection process for trial court judges. The JNC evaluates, recruits and investigates applicants for judicial office and then submits a list of recommended nominees to the Governor for his judicial appointments within the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Commissioners include attorneys and non-lawyers and serve four-year terms; they help ensure that highly qualified candidates are considered for judicial vacancies.
Based in the firm’s Orlando office, Rachael represents property owners, business owners, and select condemning authorities in complex eminent domain cases and land use litigation across Florida. She has served as lead counsel in numerous eminent domain and inverse condemnation proceedings, valuation trials, and Bert Harris actions. Rachael helps clients navigate a variety of complex civil litigation matters and has developed a particular expertise in appeals involving eminent domain, land use, marital and family, high-profile individuals, and whistleblower law.
