GrayRobinson Announces the Promotion of Six Attorneys

ORLANDO, Fla.GrayRobinson today announced Summer DeGel has been elevated to of counsel, and Jeff Aaron, Natasha Khoyi, Adam Miller, Jeffrey Rood, and Jennifer Spath have been elevated to senior associates at the firm, effective immediately.

Summer DeGel, Eminent Domain and Condemnation, Orlando

Recently named among the "Ones to Watch" for 2021-2022 by Best Lawyers in America, DeGel focuses her practice on eminent domain, inverse condemnation, real estate litigation, and property rights. She has experience working with hundreds of property owners on utility projects, including natural gas pipelines and power lines in both federal and state courts. DeGel also routinely works with property owners on all types of road projects and retention ponds, and serves as counsel for select condemning authorities.

Jeff Aaron, Intellectual Property and Technology, Orlando
Recently named among the "Ones to Watch" for 2021-2022 by Best Lawyers in America, Aaron specializes in election law, intellectual property and technology, and litigation. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Aaron served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Jeffrey Levenson of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He also served as a law clerk in Florida Governor Rick Scott’s Office of the General Counsel, at William Morris Endeavor’s Music Division, and at the University of Florida’s Office of the Vice President and General Counsel.

Natasha Khoyi, Labor and Employment, Tampa
Recently named "Rising Star" for 2021 by Florida Super Lawyers and among the "Ones to Watch" for 2021-2022 by Best Lawyers in America, Khoyi is known for handling a broad spectrum of issues faced by private and public employers, such as non-compete litigation, trade secret litigation, discrimination matters, and other disputes. She is a seasoned trial attorney and has experience working on a number of complex, high-stakes, and high-profile commercial and employment litigation matters in and outside Florida. Khoyi also counsels employers across industries to help manage risks arising in the course of business.

Adam Miller, Insurance Defense, Orlando
Miller focuses his practice on property insurance defense, personal injury defense, and litigation. He has experience handling a full range of insurance defense matters, including commercial, general liability, property, and real estate broker. Miller has defended large corporations, as well as clients sued for fraud, breach of contract, premises liability, nuisance, negligence, and violations of the Florida Consumer Collections Practices Act. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, he served as legislative assistant to a state representative and also gained experience working at the Fulton County Public Defender’s office in Atlanta. Miller is admitted to practice in the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

Jeff Rood, Real Estate, Jacksonville
A Best Lawyers in America "Ones to Watch" for 2021 and 2022 in Real Estate Law, Rood helps clients close on their most complex and urgent real estate and finance transactions. He is regularly called upon to formulate, draft, and aggressively negotiate creative deals among competing property owners and between owners and lenders, often involving distressed assets or contested development restrictions. 

Jennifer Higley Spath, Litigation, Lakeland
Spath focuses her practice on business litigation, trust litigation, and eminent domain. She has litigated more than 50 jury trials and represents clients in both state and federal court. She has also defended local governments, law enforcement agencies, and utility cooperatives on a variety of issues, ranging from utility tariffs, to land-use and construction law, to civil rights. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Spath served as public policy manager for Central Florida’s largest child welfare organization, where she advised C-suite executives about developing legislative initiatives impacting the region’s foster children.
