Fort Myers, Fla. – December 16, 2020 – GrayRobinson, P.A. (GrayRobinson) announced today that Attorney Luis E. Rivera, shareholder in the Fort Myers law firm office, was appointed to serve on the Florida Supreme Court’s Mediator Qualifications and Discipline Review Board for a four-year term.
The Mediator Qualifications and Discipline Review Board is responsible for accepting grievances against certified and court-appointed mediators; determining good moral character for applicants for certification and currently-certified mediators; determining probable cause regarding grievances filed against certified and court-appointed mediators and applicants for certification; conducting hearings regarding certified and court-appointed mediators and applicants for certification; and disciplining certified and court-appointed mediators and applicants for certification.
Rivera focuses his practice on business litigation, bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, and insolvency counseling. He is one of only 13 attorneys in Florida who is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law and Consumer Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification. Since 2010, Rivera has also served as a U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee for the Middle District of Florida. As a panel trustee, Rivera is one of the two court-appointed fiduciaries who administer Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases filed in Southwest Florida.
