Impact-oriented lawyer representing public and private sector clients at the local, state, and federal levels. Known for exceptional leadership and advocacy in national communications policy.

Gary Resnick has dedicated his life and legal career to being an advocate and servant leader at the local, state, and national levels. He is deeply connected to many of South Florida’s most dynamic communities and represents local governments and private sector clients in various concerns involving government and regulatory affairs, communications, broadband, new media, utilities, education, real estate, and land use. Gary serves as head of the firm’s communications team and brings a seasoned executive leadership perspective to this unique and heavily regulated area of law. Operating at the intersection of law and politics, he is consistently recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the state and stands as the longest-serving mayor and longest-serving member of the City Commission of the City of Wilton Manors.

A trusted counselor and fully embedded advocate, Gary advises public and private clients on communications contractual and regulatory matters as well as policy issues at the state and federal levels, including the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), U.S. Congress, the Florida Legislature, the Florida Department of Revenue, as well as before the Florida Public Service Commission. He brings a deep understanding of community needs and critical issues in national communications policy that affect businesses and state and local governments. A key thought leader in the telecom space, Gary was appointed and served as chair and member of the Federal Communications Commission's Intergovernmental Advisory Committee. He also served on the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors Board of Directors and was a founding member and officer of the association's Florida chapter.

As a complement to his client work, Gary has also made a meaningful impact in numerous leadership roles for the National League of Cities, including serving on its Board of Directors, Information Technology and Communications Steering Committee, Legal Advisory Committee, and several policy committees addressing transportation and urban administration issues.

Prior to joining GrayRobinson, Gary was the director of law and public policy for MediaOne, one of the nation’s largest cable and broadband companies. He frequently collaborates with GrayRobinson colleagues in the government affairs and lobbying, litigation, and utilities practices to provide integrated solutions for clients.
