Robert Furr represents businesses, individuals, creditors, trustees, and fiduciaries in bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and commercial litigation matters. His practice includes Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 proceedings, business restructurings, creditors’ rights matters, assignments for the benefit of creditors, receiverships, and contested bankruptcy proceedings. Robert also serves as a panel trustee for the U.S. Trustee Program in the Southern District of Florida. In this role, he administers bankruptcy estates, evaluates and liquidates assets, investigates financial affairs, pursues recoveries for creditors, and addresses contested claims and other disputes arising during estate administration.

Robert counsels clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, retail, professional services, hospitality, technology, and nonprofit organizations. He has also represented prominent and licensed professionals, including elected officials, actors, television personalities, attorneys, CPAs, developers, athletes, dentists, and physicians, in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings. He advises on reorganizations, asset preservation and disposition strategies, creditor claims and remedies, estate administration, and litigation involving bankruptcy-related issues. Robert also serves as a mediator in adversary proceedings, contested matters, and disputes involving proposed plans of reorganization.

Drawing on extensive experience in bankruptcy and insolvency law, Robert brings a measured, analytical approach to complex financial and commercial matters. He works closely with clients and other stakeholders to evaluate available options and pursue effective resolutions both inside and outside of bankruptcy proceedings.

  • Notable Work
    • Represented TLFO, LLC, formerly known as TLO, LLC, in a Chapter 11 restructuring that included a Section 363 sale, generating $155 million in proceeds. The transaction provided unsecured creditors with payment in full, plus interest, and returned more than $30 million to the company’s owners.
    • Represented Palm Beach Community Church, Inc. in a Chapter 11 proceeding involving the sale of assets and a merger with another church, enabling the organization to continue its operations.
    • Represented the City of Delray Beach as a secured creditor in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Auburn Trace, LLC, securing full recovery of the City’s mortgage claim.
    • Represented a radiologist and related entities in a Chapter 11 restructuring, negotiating confirmation of a reorganization plan that permitted the client to satisfy 20% of an outstanding judgment over two years while retaining ownership of property.
    • Represented one of Palm Beach County’s largest medical groups following the entry of an uninsured medical malpractice judgment. Negotiated a settlement with the claimants that resolved the matter without the need for a Chapter 11 filing.
    • Served as Chapter 7 Trustee for Banyon 1030-32 and Banyon Income Fund LP, feeder funds involved in the Rothstein Ponzi scheme, recovering more than $45 million for creditors through litigation and other asset recovery efforts.
    • Served as Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Trustee for former NFL quarterback Bernie Kosar, overseeing the liquidation of assets and distributions to creditors.
