GrayRobinson Pays Tribute to Gordon Harris' Legacy in Business Journals’ "Gordon Harris, Founder of GrayRobinson, Dies"

Florida – April 7, 2021 – GrayRobinson, P.A. (GrayRobinson) celebrates the legacy of the late Gordon "Stumpy" Harris, one of the three founders of the firm.  Harris’ obituary was published in the Orlando Sentinel (hyperlink to his obituary) after his passing on April 1, 2021. Harris’ backstory can also be found in Tampa Bay Business Journal and Orlando Business Journal’s "Gordon ‘Stumpy’ Harris, Founder of GrayRobinson, Dies," which reveals he was born in Atlanta and raised in Jacksonville and attended the University of Florida for both undergrad and law school. He taught at the school briefly upon graduation in 1965, and the following year he joined the predecessor of what would become Holland and Knight, currently the fourth-largest law firm in Florida. He was a founding partner of Gray Harris and Robinson when it was established in 1970 and remained with the firm for three decades.

GrayRobinson, P.A. President and CEO Dean Cannon told the Business Journals, "Stumpy was a lawyer‘s lawyer, a passionate advocate, and he cared deeply about the people and causes that were important to him. He was a founding partner of our law firm, and a tremendous positive influence on me and many other lawyers who practiced alongside him over the years. On behalf of the firm, we celebrate his legacy and offer prayers and condolences for him and his family. He will be missed."
