GrayRobinson Secures Job Growth Grant Fund for Orlando Melbourne International Airport

ORLANDO, FL – November 13, 2019 – The GrayRobinson government affairs and lobbying team, led by Robert Stuart, Chris Carmody, Chris Dawson and Katie Flury, helped secure a $3.9 million Job Growth Grant Fund for longtime client Orlando Melbourne International Airport. The dollars will be used for infrastructure improvements as the Airport, in partnership with the state, pursues major economic development opportunities. Governor Ron DeSantis shared the exciting news at the Orlando Melbourne International Airport on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019.

This is the Airport’s second Job Growth Grant in the last three years (the first being a $4 million award for the construction of a new Ground Run-up Enclosure in January of this year) and is yet another in a growing list of several that GrayRobinson has helped our clients in securing since the program’s inception just three short years ago. Both of these Job Growth Grant Fund awards are critical pieces of infrastructure that will assist the airport in retaining and attracting new tenants in the rapidly expanding aerospace industry cluster along Florida’s Space Coast.

The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund was created by the legislature under then-Governor Rick Scott in 2017, and funded each year since, to provide funding for publicly-owned infrastructure and workforce training programs. Funds from the grant fund were awarded through a highly competitive public grant program.
