GrayRobinson’s election lawyers are ideally situated to meet client needs in the full range of state and local elections, campaigns, and ethics matters. The firm has represented political candidates, political committees, Supervisors of Elections, state legislators, members of Congress, the Florida Secretary of State, the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, and the Republican Party of Florida in election contests, election litigation, and other election-related matters. Members of GrayRobinson’s election law team have served as election counsel to the National Republican Congressional Committee, Redistricting Counsel and General Counsel to the Florida House of Representatives, General Counsel to the Florida Senate and Special Counsel to both the President of the Florida Senate and Florida House of Representatives. 

In addition, Dean Cannon and Larry Cretul*, who are members of the election law team, both served for eight years in the Florida House of Representatives, and both also served as Speaker of the House.

In their capacity as Speaker, they oversaw both state and federal litigation, and policymaking for redistricting law and election law in Florida.

Dean Cannon served as election law counsel to the Republican Party of Florida from 1998 to 2004. Larry Cretul also served for eight years on the Marion County Commission, including two years as Chairman, and is familiar with both local and state election law issues.
