GrayRobinson is pleased to share Shareholder Nicole Vele will present "The Dos and Don'ts of the U.S. Fiscal Law" during a The Right Thing CLE (TRTCLE) webinar on October 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm ET.
Nicole's presentation will offer a practical introduction to U.S. fiscal law, including the framework that governs how federal funds are authorized, obligated, and spent. She will walk through the Purpose, Time, and Amount framework, and explain why Congress imposes strict limits on the use of taxpayer dollars, along with the consequences agencies and officials face when they fall short of those requirements, including violations of the Anti-Deficiency Act. Nicole will also examine how fiscal law intersects with federal procurement and how those rules shape government contracts, purchases, and other expenditures. The webinar is approved for CLE credit in New York and more than a dozen other states, and is geared toward government attorneys, young attorneys, and others with limited prior exposure to the subject.
Based in the firm's Washington, D.C., office, Nicole concentrates her practice on government contracts, litigation, administrative and regulatory matters, and construction. A U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General veteran, she advises clients on solicitations, source selections, bid protests, contract modifications, terminations, and claims, and has managed multi-billion-dollar contracting matters on behalf of government contractors. Nicole serves on the American Bar Association's Public Contract Law Section Council and is vice chair of the Commercial Products and Services, Debarment and Suspension, and Procurement Fraud and False Claims Committees. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Space Coast Chamber and is a former board member of the Autism Society of America.
