Celebrating the CMLA's 75th anniversary, the annual conference brings together leading maritime law practitioners, industry stakeholders, and government representatives for a program of legal education and professional collaboration. Jim's session will explore key issues surrounding detention and demurrage disputes, drawing on his extensive experience advising shipowners, operators, and international marine insurers on commercial maritime matters.
Based in firm’s Jacksonville office, Moseley serves as the head of the firm’s Admiralty and Maritime Team. His practice spans four decades of litigation, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and non-litigation counseling for shipowners, operators, insurers, logistics companies, railroads, and other transportation clients, with a particular focus on maritime casualties, cargo claims, maritime finance, charter negotiations, and regulatory proceedings before the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Transportation Safety Board. He is especially trusted by leading international marine insurers in the London market and by European P&I Clubs in high-value, complex claims. Moseley is ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA for Transportation: Shipping/Maritime: Litigation (Nationwide), is board-certified by The Florida Bar in Admiralty and Maritime Law, and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2009, earning Lawyer of the Year in Admiralty and Maritime Law in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025.
