During the presentation, Roger will discuss common fraud schemes targeting seniors, warning signs that may indicate someone has become a victim, and practical steps individuals can take to help protect family members and friends. He will also address Florida laws that require banks and investment firms to report suspected elder financial exploitation. Focused on prevention and awareness, his presentation emphasizes the important role communities can play in helping safeguard older adults from fraud, which results in average victim losses of more than $80,000 (FBI IC3, 2024).
