During the session, Sean and Taylor will discuss key considerations for protecting inventions through patent filings in the United States and internationally. They will cover the fundamentals of patent protection, including how disclosure timing, filing strategies, and jurisdiction selection can affect the scope and strength of patent rights. The program will also highlight practical factors innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups should evaluate when determining where and when to pursue patent protection.
Sean is a registered patent attorney who provides strategic counsel and legal services to innovators and businesses across a range of industries. He regularly prepares and prosecutes patent applications before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), with experience spanning technologies, such as mechanical systems, medical devices, energy systems, software, robotics, and environmental technologies.
Taylor is a registered patent attorney who advises clients on intellectual property, technology, and health care matters. His practice includes patent and trademark prosecution, copyrights, transactions, and regulatory compliance, as well as strategies for protecting and leveraging intellectual property assets.
