GrayRobinson is pleased to share Shareholder Joni Poitier presented the Marine Pollution and Maritime Crimes Committee Report at the Maritime Law Association of the Unites States (MLA) Fall Meeting in Washington, D.C. 

Joni, who serves as vice chair of the Marine Pollution and Maritime Crimes Committee, delivered a report summarizing the discussions held during the joint committee meeting of the Marine Pollution and Maritime Crimes Committee and the Regulation of Vessel Operations, Safety, Security, and Navigation Committee. The joint committee meeting featured presentations by industry professionals who covered topics, such as the IMO Guidelines for Fair Treatment of Seafarers, MARPOL Annex VI, anticipated enforcement trends, and best practices for responding to maritime emergencies with environmental impacts, including investigation procedures, data collection, and restoration analysis.

Based in the firm's Jacksonville office, Joni focuses her practice on maritime defense, transportation sector liability defense, product claims, railroad law and serious personal injury matters. She represents corporate clients and insurers in cases involving substantial risk, managing disputes from investigation through trial and appeal in both state and federal courts.
