Handberg will continue his commitment to public education with his presentation, “Scams, Schemes, and Safeguards: Lessons from Federal Fraud Cases.” Fresh off a recent Rotary engagement, Roger will bring his insights and real-world experience to the Sunrise Rotary Club of Gainesville on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 7:00 a.m.
As the former U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, Roger will be discussing recent trends in elder fraud scams, tips to protect against those scams, ways to report them to law enforcement, and the requirements imposed on health care, financial institution, and investment professionals by the Florida Adult Protective Services Act.
Roger is a seasoned attorney with more than three decades of experience handling criminal and civil matters, including more than two decades as a federal prosecutor. His practice encompasses assisting clients with internal and governmental investigations, white-collar and all types of criminal matters, False Claims Act defense, crisis management, compliance programs, data breach responses, and civil litigation in federal and state courts.
