JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – GrayRobinson is pleased to share Shareholder Jim Moseley has been appointed to The Florida Bar's Admiralty and Maritime Law Certification Committee, with a term running through June 30, 2029.
As a member of the certification committee, Moseley will review and approve applications for certification and recertification in admiralty and maritime law, and help develop and refine the standards, policies, and procedures that govern the credential. His responsibilities also include writing and reviewing exam questions and model answers, ensuring the exam aligns with test specifications, grading exams and determining pass or fail results, and promoting certification within the legal community.
Based in the firm’s Jacksonville office, Moseley serves as head of the firm’s Admiralty and Maritime Team. His practice spans four decades of litigation, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and non-litigation counseling for shipowners, operators, insurers, logistics companies, railroads, and other transportation clients. He focuses in particular on maritime casualties, cargo claims, maritime finance, charter negotiations, and regulatory proceedings before the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Transportation Safety Board, and is especially trusted by leading international marine insurers in the London market and by European P&I Clubs in high-value, complex claims. Moseley is ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA for Transportation: Shipping/Maritime: Litigation (Nationwide), is board-certified by The Florida Bar in Admiralty and Maritime Law, and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2009, earning Lawyer of the Year in Admiralty and Maritime Law in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025. He currently serves as president of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, is a titulary member of the Comité Maritime International, is an active member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, and is a past president of the Jacksonville Bar Association.
