Buhler, B.C.S., has been elected as a titulary member of the Comité Maritime International (CMI), the highest level of individual membership within the organization. His election reflects a career of distinguished service to the field and places him among a small group of attorneys globally to have achieved this rank.
Titulary membership is honorary in nature, reserved for a select few members, and is conferred by the CMI Assembly based upon a member's full career of contributions to international maritime law and to the advancement of uniformity in maritime legal and commercial practice worldwide. The CMI, founded in 1897, is the leading private international organization dedicated to the unification of maritime law.
Based in the firm’s Jacksonville office, Buhler advises U.S. and international clients on maritime law, intermodal transportation, international commercial litigation, and cross-border regulatory matters. Board-certified by The Florida Bar in both Admiralty and Maritime Law and in International Law, he brings nearly four decades of experience representing clients across the maritime and commercial sectors. A proctor member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, Buhler has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in Admiralty and Maritime Law since 2010, including as Lawyer of the Year in 2022, and by Florida Super Lawyers in Transportation and Maritime since 2006.
