GrayRobinson Grows its Litigation Capabilities with 3 Associates

ORLANDO, Fla. – GrayRobinson is pleased to welcome three associate attorneys to its growing Litigation Section. The attorneys include Sierra L. Hutchens, Lucia L. Leoni, and Talia M. Semaan.

Sierra L. Hutchens, Litigation, Jacksonville

Hutchens leverages her federal clerkship experience to provide incisive, practical case analysis that supports trial teams and drives results for clients.

Before joining GrayRobinson, Hutchens served as a law clerk for Judge William F. Jung of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. In this role, she gained valuable exposure to federal litigation involving civil, criminal, and pro se matters while developing skills in hearing preparation, case analysis, procedural navigation, and concise legal drafting. This experience sharpened her ability to anticipate challenges and craft pragmatic, well-reasoned solutions for clients.

Hutchens earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, where she served as a senior associate on the Stetson Law Review. She received her dual Bachelor of Arts in History and Statistics with an Econometrics Concentration from the University of Virginia. She is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

Lucia L. Leoni, Appellate and Trial Support, Miami

Leoni focuses her practice on civil litigation and appellate advocacy. She represents clients in complex matters before both state and federal courts and regularly prepares dispositive motions and appellate briefs that require in-depth legal research and analysis.

Most recently, Leoni served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bronwyn C. Miller at Florida’s 3rd District Court of Appeal (DCA), where she gained firsthand experience with appellate procedure, including non-final orders, extraordinary writs, and preservation of error. Before transitioning to the 3rd DCA, she was an associate in GrayRobinson’s Litigation Section from 2022 to 2024. She also externed with the Honorable Julie Sneed of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Honorable Andrea Teves Smith of Florida’s 2nd DCA.

Leoni earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University. She is admitted to practice in Florida before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. She is an active member of the Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar and the Appellate Court Committee of the Miami-Dade Bar, serves on the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade Bar Young Lawyers Section (MDB YLS), and is a member of the Miami-Dade Florida Association for Women Lawyers. In 2025, she was recognized as one of the MDB YLS’s “40 Under 40” and received the Miami-Dade Bar’s Circle of Excellence Award in the Appellate category.

Talia M. Semaan, Litigation, Tallahassee

Semaan focuses her practice on appellate litigation, constitutional law, and complex civil disputes.

During law school, Semaan served as a staff attorney to Justice Jamie R. Grosshans of the Florida Supreme Court, where she assisted in reviewing appellate briefs, preparing memoranda, and drafting opinions on constitutional and statutory issues. She also gained experience in the Office of the General Counsel to the Governor of Florida, the U.S. House and Senate Judiciary Committees, and with trial and appellate courts in Florida, providing research and drafting support on federal and civil litigation matters.

Semaan earned her Juris Doctor from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, where she was the executive editor of the Journal of Law, Economic & Policy. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Belmont Abbey College. She is admitted to practice in Florida and is fluent in Spanish.
