The award ceremony took place at the Daytona State College News Journal Center.
Volusia County Sheriff Michael Chitwood praised Roger’s longstanding commitment to law enforcement collaboration, stating: “Roger Handberg has been a reliable partner and an invaluable resource since I first arrived as Chief of the Daytona Beach Police Department in 2006. Our partnership expanded across local agencies and continued as I became Volusia County Sheriff and Mr. Handberg was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. His support on a range of cases and his relentless pursuit of justice - particularly in prosecuting violent crime and drug trafficking - has made him a critical ally to law enforcement. Roger is not just a crucial asset - he is a trusted colleague and friend.”
With over 30 years of experience, including more than 20 years as a federal prosecutor, Roger is a seasoned attorney known for his work across criminal and civil litigation. His current practice includes internal and governmental investigations, white collar criminal defense, False Claims Act matters, crisis management, compliance programs, data breach response, and federal and state civil litigation.
