GrayRobinson today announced Shareholder Jeff Aaron has been appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Sixth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) and was unanimously elected as its first chair. In this role, Aaron is responsible for selecting nominees to fill judicial vacancies on the Sixth District Court of Appeal. Since January 2019, Aaron served on the Ninth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and was its chair from 2020-2021. There are 28 separate JNCs: one for the Florida Supreme Court; six for the appellate districts; 20 for the circuit and county courts; and one Statewide Commission for Judges of Compensation Claims. The JNCs are required to operate in accordance with the Uniform Rules of Procedure applicable to each level of JNC.
