FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - October 18, 2011 - Attorney Gary Resnick of GrayRobinson P.A., hosted a symposium on "Changes in U.S. and Cuba: The Impact on Cuba" before a group of business leaders interested in the historic economic reforms happening in Cuba and the easing of travel restrictions in the U.S. The symposium, which was co-hosted by CubaNews, also touched base on how new policy changes could impact Florida and present business opportunities in the state.
"There is a strong interest in establishing businesses that catered to the Cuban market among business leaders in the state of Florida," said GrayRobinson President Byrd F. "Biff" Marshall, Jr. "Our firm wanted to provide attendees with information surrounding current international changes that could impact their business initiatives."
Both Resnick and Vescovacci, each of whom are members of the firm’s international practice, covered topics involving agriculture, telecommunications, humanitarian trade, travel, oil exploration, real estate, foreign investment and micro-lending. As oppose to initiating a political pro- or anti-embargo conversation, Resnick, Vescovacci and other panelists focused on providing in-depth research regarding the policy changes and how it may economically impact the state of Florida. Amongst the panelists were renowned speakers, published authors and industry leaders.
This is the second symposium held by GrayRobinson in the state. The first was held in May 2011. The firm will continue to discuss issues pertaining to U.S./Cuba matters and plans on hosting another symposium in Orlando in early 2012.
Resnick, a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of GrayRobinson, received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University.
