Mark Schellhase of GrayRobinson recently won a dismissal with prejudice, prior to class certification, for SunTrust Bank. The $35 million class action claim against the bank was filed in Federal District Court. A group of international investors brought the multimillion dollar claim alleging SunTrust Bank bore responsibility for an international Ponzi scheme in Lesti et al v. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and SunTrust Bank. The court ultimately sided against the investors with prejudice, bringing a permanent closure to this claim.
