S. Grier Wells to Serve on Statewide Task Force to Analyze Personal Injury Protection

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - September 12, 2011 - S. Grier Wells, attorney in the Jacksonville office of GrayRobinson, P.A., has been appointed to serve on a statewide task force established by Florida's Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater to analyze personal injury protection (PIP) insurance. The group was formed to analyze and evaluate PIP reform in light of escalating fraud in PIP claims and spiraling costs of coverage.

Wells serves on the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar and chairs the Special Committee on Lawyer Referral Services. The Committee conducts public hearings on the role and conduct of lawyers in lawyer referral services.

"Grier will diligently work with the task force to investigate and determine the appropriate regulations needed on this matter," said GrayRobinson President, Byrd F. "Biff" Marshall, Jr. "We are confident the task force will propose effective strategies and practices for PIP reform."

The "AV" rated attorney practices in the areas of insurance defense and commercial, construction and employment litigation. He has served in leadership roles for the Jacksonville Bar Association and formerly served as the president of the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Wells has been directly involved with The Florida Bar since 2002.

He received both his Juris Doctor and undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida.
