GrayRobinson is pleased to share Shareholder Shannon Kelly will present “ChatGPT, Esquire: Navigating AI-Generated Workplace Complaints and Requests for Accommodation” as part of the Workplace Legal Briefings webinar series on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at 12:00 pm ET via Zoom.
Employees are using ChatGPT and similar tools to write complaints and requests to HR that cite statutes, use legal buzzwords, and arrive in rapid succession, often with few facts to back them up. The session will cover what employers must do when they receive these communications, and why a chatbot’s involvement does not change the obligation to respond. Topics include how to spot an AI-drafted complaint and why it still must be investigated, handling repeated complaints and urgent follow-up demands, the use of AI in requests for accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and documenting intake and response.
Based in the firm’s Orlando office, Shannon advises employers on labor and employment law matters, with nearly two decades of experience. Her practice encompasses compliance matters involving federal and state employment laws, policy development and revision, internal and agency audits, employee benefit plan design and compliance, and harassment and discrimination investigations, with a focus on complex issues under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Affordable Care Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. In addition to her work with private employers, Shannon represents higher education institutions, offering counsel on employment law claims and defending clients in litigation under all federal and state employment statutes. Shannon serves on the Board of Directors for iBuild Central Florida and is recognized in Best Lawyers in America (2025-2027) for Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law, Employment Law – Management, and Litigation – Labor and Employment.
