Jason was born and raised in the city of Winter Park and, prior to joining GrayRobinson, was the founding partner and managing attorney of Jason W. Searl, P.A., a real estate, land use and business law firm with offices in Orlando. Jason has experience representing land owners, developers and individuals in matters before various local governments and agencies in Central Florida, including the cities of Apopka, Belleview, Casselberry, Cocoa, Daytona Beach, Deltona, Gainesville, Lake Mary, Lake Wales, Leesburg, Ocoee, Orlando, Oviedo, Port Orange, St. Cloud, Tallahassee, Titusville, Town of Dundee, Town of Ponce Inlet, Winter Haven and Winter Park, and the counties of Brevard, Highlands, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and Volusia. He also represents the District Board of Trustees of Seminole State College. Jason has experience in real estate acquisitions and sales, licensing, development and finance, title insurance, and escrow and closing agent services as an agent of Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. and The FUND.
In addition, Jason assisted with the firm's historic defense of a political action committee's efforts to allow a referendum to elect a special elected chair of the Orange County School Board and is an assistant city attorney for the Towns of Astatula, Windermere, and Howey-in-the-Hills, and the Cities of Fort Meade, Polk City, and Wauchula. Jason's real estate and transactional experience includes title insurance, escrow and closing agent services, business entity formation, corporate counsel, mergers and acquisitions, procurement, and business contracts review.
Jason obtained his bachelor's degree in 1997 from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, and went on to receive his juris doctor degree and master's of business administration from Stetson University in 2000. While in law school, Jason received the Research and Writing II Best Appellee Brief Award.
Jason concentrates his practice in the areas of public law, government, land use, banking, business, corporate, environmental and real estate. He is active in his community, serving on the city of Orlando's Municipal Planning Board and as the firm representative in the Association of Florida Community Developers.
