Our Experience

GrayRobinson attorneys have decades of experience in resolving environmental and sustainability challenges for private and public entities. Stephen Tilbrook, Chair of the Environmental and Sustainability Law practice group, is former assistant general counsel with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and is well-versed in the regulatory systems that protect the state's environment and natural resources. Notably, he helped achieve the first completed brownfields site in Broward County, and has experience in addressing environmental permitting and cleanup for the marine industry, homebuilders, the petroleum industry, the agricultural industry, chemical manufacturers, drycleaning facilities and recreational facilities including golf course developments.

Other attorneys, include former counsel and senior management for state and local environmental agencies, are regularly involved in developing strategies to work with those entities. One of our shareholders served as General Counsel for more than 30 years to the Florida Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores Association.

Our lawyers practice before every major federal, state and local permitting authority throughout Florida, and many throughout the Southeast and in Washington, DC. We have represent landowners and developers before state agencies, and serve as special counsel to counties, cities and special districts throughout Florida on matters of permitting, litigation and transactions.
