Gary I. Resnick Presents at National League of Cities Congressional City Conference

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – April 2, 2015 – Gary I. Resnick, a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of GrayRobinson, served on a panel at the Information Technology and Communications (ITC) Policy and Advocacy Committee Meeting on March 8, 2015, in Washington, D.C. as part of the National League of Cities Congressional City Conference. The ITC is responsible for developing policy and advocating on telecommunications and information systems, cable TV, phone service, broadcasting and defense of city rights-of-way from degradation caused by installation of communications facilities issues. Resnick presented on the Federal Communication Commission’s new orders dealing with wireless siting and restrictions on local governments’ authority, municipal broadband, and declaring broadband to be a Title II service.

Resnick is a longstanding member of the Federal Communications Commission’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee. He concentrates his practice in the representation of local governments and private clients in government and regulatory affairs, communications and cable law, utilities, and use of rights-of-way. Prior to joining GrayRobinson, he was the director of law and public policy for MediaOne, one of the nation's largest cable and broadband companies, and was responsible for, among other things, its legal, regulatory, and Florida and federal government affairs programs.

Resnick concentrates his practice in the representation of local governments and private clients in government and regulatory affairs, communications and cable law, utilities, charter schools and use of rights-of-way. He serves as Chair of the Federal Communications Commission Intergovernmental Advisory Committee and has been a member since 2004. He also serves on the National League of Cities Information Technology and Communications Steering Committee, the Board of Directors of Independent Multi-Family Communications Council (IMCC), and previously served on the Board of Directors of NATOA (the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors) and was a founding member of FLATOA (the Florida Chapter of NATOA).
