Brian Furgala to Present at Pension Investors CPE Seminar

ORLANDO, FL – May 21, 2014 – Brian K. Furgala, Senior Associate in GrayRobinson’s Orlando office, is presenting at the Pension Investors Corporation CPE Seminar in Altamonte Springs, FL on June 19, 2014. The topic of his discussion is "Down Goes DOMA: The Effect on Retirement Plan Administration." In his presentation, Furgala will discuss challenges facing retirement plan sponsor after the U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down DOMA.

Furgala is an ERISA attorney who advises clients on the design, installation and operation of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, including drafting plan documents; consulting with employers and fiduciaries on problem solving in relation to the management and operation of the plans; representing clients involved in IRS audits and DOL investigations; and providing technical advice to administrators and accountants. He is the immediate past-President of the Central Florida Employee Benefits Council and holds the designations of Certified Pension Consultant and Qualified Pension Administrators with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Furgala worked in all aspects of retirement plan administration for a large financial institution.  He received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Baldwin-Wallace College in Cleveland, Ohio and his Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law.
