Community Leader Forum - Melbourne - Jeff Kiel, President and Publisher of Florida Today

GrayRobinson's recent Community Leader Forum held on May 21, 2013 held in Melbourne featured Jeff Kiel, President and Publisher of Florida Today.

Kiel joined Florida Today in March of this year as President and Publisher.  Kiel formerly was executive vice president of sales and marketing for Westinghouse Solar and before that, president and publisher of the San Jose (CA) Mercury News. His presentation focused on how Florida Today, like many other industries, is transforming its business. Florida Today is part of the Gannett Co., also owner of USA Today. Gannett is a leading media and marketing solutions company that reaches millions of people every day through digital, mobile, broadcast and print.  Locally, it is in the business of delivering news and information to Brevard County, and no other media organization devotes the resources it does to cover Brevard County.

Many of its readers are now receiving their information in multiple formats - printed newspaper, computer and/or mobile device. Florida Today’s printed publications, websites, tablet apps and mobile device apps are meant to be complementary and not mutually exclusive. In today's world of instantaneous communications, much of the news and information is first introduced digitally, often accompanied by video, as soon as it happens. The next morning there is more depth in the printed newspaper.  Florida Today is prepared to share news and information in the formats most desirable to its readers.

Through its Community Leader Forums, GrayRobinson brings together clients, attorneys and friends of the firm to hear high-profile business and community leaders and elected officials discuss issues of importance to the state of Florida.
