GrayRobinson Attorney John K. Vreeland Honored With University Of Florida Foundation’s Annual Volunteer Award

LAKELAND, FL - May 4, 2012 - John K. Vreeland, of the Lakeland office of GrayRobinson, P.A., was honored by the University of Florida Foundation’s Board of Directors with the Annual Volunteer Award, along with his wife Weezie Vreeland. The award acknowledges the Vreelands for their outstanding service to the University of Florida and the University of Florida Foundation.

At GrayRobinson, Vreeland focuses his practice on estate planning, including estate and trust administration. He has represented numerous individuals and corporate personal representatives and trustees in the successful administration of taxable and non-taxable estates of all sizes and degrees of complexity, including resolution of various tax and non-tax issues.

The Vreelands have been active members of the UF community, showing consistent involvement in organizations and programs such as the Gator Boosters and the Florida Opportunity Scholars program.  In the past year, they assisted the board by hosting two events at their home that helped strengthen relationships between the school and professional community. John also serves as an active member of the UFF Leadership Gifts Committee, the Finance Committee and the Planned Giving Advisory Council, and is a Law Center Association Trustee in the UF Levin College of Law.

John is a member of The Florida Bar, the Polk County Estate Planning Council and sits on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland, Inc.
He earned both his Juris Doctor and undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida. After graduation from law school, John served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Corps as a trial counsel and assistant judge advocate general for four years and was the distinguished military graduate in his class. Additionally, he has made it on the list of Florida Super Lawyers from 2007 to 2011 as well as Best Lawyers in America from 2006 to 2012.
