Washington, D.C. – May 8, 2020 – GrayRobinson’s government affairs and lobbying group released its weekly federal lobbying newsletter, The Golden Apple, reporting on the most recent issues, individuals, and discourse deemed fairest in Washington. The Securities and Exchange Commission's announcement to providing "temporary, conditional relief" to smaller established companies is discussed this week, along with the Small Business Administration's announcement to extending the "safe harbor" to May 14 for companies to return PPP funds if they can’t make the required certification that the loan is "necessary to support the ongoing operations of the Applicant." The "Confirmations, Nominations, Departures, etc." section presents that Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-MD) was sworn in this week to fill the remainder of Rep. Elijah Cummings’ term in Congress. The newsletter closes up with the "Next Week in Washington" and "The Ellis Insight" sections. Read the newsletter in its entirety here.
