TALLAHASSEE, FL – February 3, 2020 – GrayRobinson's government affairs and lobbying practice group released its weekly GRay Matters Session newsletter, "2020 Session: Week 3." The House and Senate’s proposed budgets were released this week and the newsletter highlights some key differences from the $91.4 billion plan laid out by Governor DeSantis in October. One difference being the House plan is a hair below the Governor's at $91.3 billion, with its allocations to teacher raises and the Florida Forever land acquisition program being the largest departures. The Florida House of Representatives section highlights Speaker-designate Chris Sprowls’ bill to block life insurers from using DNA information to make policy decisions, and the Florida Senate section covers the bill to eliminate the controversial "Best and Brightest" teacher bonus program and redirect the cash toward pay raises. The newsletter features a Federal and Client Spotlight and closes up with the upcoming week in Tallahassee. Read the full newsletter here.
