Mayanne Downs Featured in Orlando Business Journal

ORLANDO, FL – May 14, 2019 – President and Managing Director of GrayRobinson, Mayanne Downs, was featured in the Orlando Business Journal article "New Offices and More: What GrayRobinson President Mayanne Downs Had on Her Plate this Past Year." The feature, which also ran in the Tampa Bay Business Journal, illustrates Downs’ role as GrayRobinson’s first female president and managing director from when she took over the position in 2016.  As conveyed in the article, the triumphs she achieved for GrayRobinson within her three years as President include debuting new offices in West Palm Beach and Washington, D.C., introducing new practice areas such as cannabis industry law, and increasing per-equity partner profit by 7.2% in 2018. The article describes Downs’ "[use of] innovation and a willingness to embrace tough decisions to help deliver big successes for the firm."

Downs’ success for the firm has not gone unnoticed. Most recently, she was named Orlando Business Journal’s 2019 CEO of the year. Previous awards she has received include Orlando Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful People from 2012-2018, Super Lawyers Top 50 Women in Florida from 2012-2017, and Orange Appeal Magazine’s Women of the Year for 2017. Her next move is to focus on her complex litigation practice while assisting her successor, Dean Cannon,—who will be assuming her role effective September 1—with the leadership transition.
