ORLANDO, FL – December 20, 2018 – President and managing director of GrayRobinson, Mayanne Downs, and associate/government consultant in GrayRobinson’s Miami office, Joseph R. Salzverg, were appointed to Nikki Fried’s Inaugural Host Committee. Fried, incoming Florida Agriculture Commissioner, will take over on January 8th as the only Democrat holding statewide office in Florida. Downs and Salzverg are two of 27 named to Fried’s Inaugural Host Committee.
Not only is she the first woman to hold position as President at GrayRobinson, Downs is also the first woman to be appointed as City Attorney for Orlando. With past experience serving as president of the Orange County Bar Association, the Legal Aid Society, the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and the 100,000 member Florida Bar, Downs is equipped for her newly appointed Inaugural Host role.
Salzverg has previously served as campaign manager and political consultant to several members of the Miami-Dade Legislation Delegation through several election cycles. This, and his time serving as a Legislative Analyst on the Regulatory Affairs Committee in the Florida House of Representatives, attests to Fried’s choice for his inclusion on the committee.
