GrayRobinson’s Patrick Hagen participated in a Government and Judicial Clerkship Q&A panel with the Federalist Society at Florida State University (FSU) College of Law. The discussion covered topics ranging from the panelists’ experience in public interest and government jobs, to advice on judicial clerkships. Hagen has clerked for the Honorable T. Kent Wetherell, II of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida as well as to the Honorable Timothy D. Osterhaus of the Florida First District Court of Appeal, allowing him to provide insight on the day-to-day responsibilities and experiences of a law clerk, including: how one should develop his or her legal skills to prepare for a clerkship; what the day-to-day responsibilities and obligations of a law clerk entail; what kinds of challenges one might experience as a law clerk; what skills and benefits one might experience as a law clerk; and how to leverage the lessons learned as a clerk for early success in private practice.
