MIAMI, FL – December 2, 2019 – GrayRobinson, P.A. is pleased to announce that Kristen Catasús has joined the firm as an associate in the Miami law firm office where she is a member of the firm’s Nationwide Alcohol Beverage Department.
Before joining the firm, Catasús was counsel for Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits’ Regulatory, Compliance, and Government Affairs department. There, she advised the company on tied-house and trade practice matters. She has experience interpreting federal, state, and international beverage laws and regulations. In her time with the company, she worked with state alcohol beverage control authorities and federal agents on investigations into potential industry violations. She also coordinated with industry members in both the distribution and manufacturing tiers to streamline and improve industry standards and practices.
During law school, Catasús was an extern at Bacardi U.S.A.’s general counsel’s office. In this role, she analyzed the Federal Alcohol Administration Act and ensured company compliance with trade practice standards. She also interned for the Honorable Johnathan Goodman at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Catasús is admitted to practice law in Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and law degree from the Florida International University College of Law, where she was a member of the moot court team and studied abroad in Spain.
