Grace Yang to Present for The Florida Bar Gender Equality Subcommittee

Tampa, Fla. – January 12, 2021 – Alcohol Law and Food Law Attorney Grace H. Yang, shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Tampa law office, will serve as a speaker for The Florida Bar’s Gender Equality Subcommittee meeting on January 12, 2021 at 12 p.m. Grace’s presentation, "Leveling the Playing Field: Effective Pathways to Bar Leadership for Women Lawyers," will center around bar leadership and will encourage women members of The Florida Bar to assume leadership roles.

The Gender Equality Subcommittee was created as a result of findings from a survey released in October 2015 by the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of The Florida Bar. The Survey on Women in the Legal Profession, which was emailed to a random sample of more than 3,000 female members of the YLD, found that 43 percent of respondents reported experiencing gender bias during their legal career. As a result of the YLD survey, Florida Bar President William J. Schifino, Jr. appointed this special committee in July 2016 to study gender and diversity issues, with the goal of making concrete recommendations to the Board of Governors.
