TALLAHASSEE, FL – October 16, 2019 – Ty Jackson, shareholder in GrayRobinson’s Tallahassee law firm office, served as a panelist at the American College of Healthcare Executives of Central Florida's (ACHECF) program, "The Florida Certificate of Need Repeal: Concerns, Considerations and Consequences", on October 15, 2019 at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
The program covered the implications of the recent Florida Legislative action associated with the repeal of many of Florida’s Certificate of Need laws. Panelists discussed operating impact of legislative changes to Florida's Certificate of Need laws effective July 2019 and July 2021, as well as changes allowing 24-hour stays at Ambulatory Surgery Centers in Florida. They also provided information on the outcomes associated with the repeal of the Certificate of Need for healthcare organizations in other states and suggested approaches for addressing the potential impact of CS/HB21 for Florida healthcare organizations.
