JACKSONVILLE, FL – October 26, 2016 – Attorney James Nolan, and attorney Jeffrey Rood of GrayRobinson’s Jacksonville law firm office, spoke during several events in connection with Jacksonville Innovation Week 2016, held on October 14-21, 2016 at the Prime F. Osborn Convention Center in downtown Jacksonville.
Nolan and Rood participated in Friday’s pre-conference workshop titled, "Attorney Office Hours," answering questions on a wide range of topics including start-up business law, raising capital through crowdfunding, contracts, operating agreements and general corporate governance.
In addition, Nolan presented on a panel focused on managing start-up risk titled, "JOBS Act and Crowd Funding,” which covered best practices for innovation in risk management and funding. He co-presented on Saturday with Celeste Blackman, LHEP, Co-Founder of Green Zine Culture Group and Michael Zima, Senior Manager at Tax Controversy Services, KPMG. Gwen Griggs, Managing Director of ADVOS Legal, PLLC, will moderate the program.
Jacksonville Innovation Week is designed to support the vibrant culture of innovation, while providing education for entrepreneurs, business owners, organizational leaders, investors and innovation enthusiasts. The annual week-long event kicked off with a “hackathon” and full day education conference followed by presentations and exhibits featuring music, art, culture, food and urban design.
